April 2011 Scentsy Warmer of The Month

by Scentsy Guy on April 15, 2011

Wow! It’s already April 15th! Normally this is “tax day”, but because Washington D.C. is celebrating Emancipation Day today we all have until Monday to get our taxes filed . . . queue the big sigh of relief. :-)

However, it’s already mid-month and I haven’t talked about Scentsy’s April monthly specials yet. I guess since I have the whole weekend to get my tax stuff squared away — yes, I’m one of those people who push it off until the last minute — I can spend some time talking about the new Baby’s Breath Full-size Warmer.

As per usual, they got this one right on the money for the season. When you think of April all kinds of things immediately come to mind, and much of the the essence of this month is encapsulated in the new full-size warmer design.

Right off the bat you’ll notice the powder blue matte finish — not all that dissimilar from a robin’s egg. The pastel color choice falls right in line with the Easter holiday season. Pastel colors are symbolic of Springtime as they symbolize rebirth, new growth, and new beginnings. Which segues nicely into the most prominent feature — and namesake — of the warmer: the Baby’s Breath accents.

With some cursory research I found that Baby’s Breath is symbolic of purity and innocence. These are two qualities one could easily associate with Springtime. I also found a font named “Babys Breath Easter Font” with a bunch of silly rabbits as the characters, so there must even more implied connections between the flower and the season.

Speaking of flowers . . . The last main feature of this warmer, while subtle, is also a perfect fit for April. Take a close look at the shape of the wax dish on this warmer and you will notice hints of that famous spring-blooming perennial — the Tulip. There’s some silly irony here, in the fact that this year I learned of the existence of “Tulip Festivals” around the country from the massive amount of pictures posted on Facebook.

Well, that pretty much sums up the April Warmer of the Month. While it doesn’t cater to my personal tastes (I don’t know many guys who would abide a pastel blue, tulip-shaped Scentsy warmers in their home) it’s a nice new addition to the Scentsy lineup.

And, as with all warmers of the month, it can be had for a discounted price all month long: Baby’s Breath Full-size Warmer

Stay tuned! Later today I’ll write a bit about the other half of this month’s special — the new Scentsy Flutter Scent.

Bring Back My Bar 2011

by Scentsy Guy on April 14, 2011

We all have our favorite Scentsy fragrances. The wide variety of different scents is part of what makes Scentsy such a great product line — and it’s part of what got me into the Scentsy business as an Independent Consultant.

Even within my own family there’s quite a difference in personal tastes. My mom has always preferred warm and spiced kitchen scents like Sugar Cookie and Cinnamon Bun. And my brother, while he’s a fan of some of those homey fragrances, he tends to go for the more floral scents like Lilacs & Violets.

Personally I’m a huge fan of citrus based fragrances which makes the Scentsy Tropical Collection right up my alley — Cranberry Mango is one of my all-time faves. But I also like the Spa Collection quite a bit, especially for bathrooms and laundry rooms.

My point is that we all have our favorite scents . . . except my sister — she seems to like them all. Which is kind of fitting since she’s the one who got me into Scentsy in the first place. :-)

Well, imagine that — after trying bar after bar and smelling so many different fragrances that you cannot remember the difference between Blueberry Cheesecake and Black Raspberry Vanilla — you found a Scentsy fragrance with the perfect smell to match your personal tastes . . . only to have it discontinued so you cannot buy it anymore!

Guess what, you just might be in luck!!!

It’s that time again. Scentsy is currently running their yearly Bring Back My Bar campaign where you loyal Scentsy followers can vote to bring back your favorite scent that is currently out of production.

Here’s the official notice:

Bring Back My Bar is for the loyal among you, the ever-devoted scent supporters who never forget a top note. You are steadfast—devout, even—in your love of favorite fragrances. You hoard a treasured scent before it is discontinued; you beg for its return. (Yes! We received the late-night “it-was-the-best-scent-ever” emails!)

Vote for your favorite retired fragrances as part of this season’s Bring Back My Bar and reunite with the lush florals, juicy fruits, and spicy herbs still lingering in your memory. We’ll bring back 20 of the most highly requested scents—make sure yours are among them! Voting will close April 27 and the chosen fragrances will be available for the month of July 2011 only.

Vote Now!

So, if your favorite Scentsy fragrance has been retired why don’t you jump over here and vote for it! Like I said, you just might be in luck to get your favorite scent back.

Check the Official Scentsy Facebook Fan page on June 1st, 2011 to find out which 20 fragrances are coming out of retirement for the entire month of July this year. You can vote for all previously retired scents except for those that were part of the Fall/Winter 2010 lineup.

And if you’re truly a fanatic you can keep voting as many times as you want!
